Parked in the San Diego Harbor is the USS Midway. The aircraft carrier, first used in WWII, was de-commissioned in the early 1990s and turned into a museum where tourists like Laura and me can see what an aircraft carrier actually looks and feels like. Since we couldn't go on Molly's ship on our trip to San Diego, we wanted to go on the Midway to see what life at sea is really like.
We were both surprised how big the ship was, especially since the actual living and working compartments for the sailors are so small. In addition to the ship layout, we were also able to see the planes of the Navy up-close. The morning was a lot of fun, and it gave us even more appreciation for the work and sacrifice the Navy and all our other service men and women.
